ARREST MADE IN CITY’S 11TH MURDER

On Sunday, July 12, 2009 at approximately 2:04 am, Laredo Police Department Communication Division received a call of a shooting by 2900 block of Napoleon in South Laredo. Pablo Lozano, 24 yr. of age, was shot in the upper torso and expired as a result of his injures. He was pronounced dead at LMC later that morning. Laredo Police Detectives from the homicide division worked the investigation and an official suspect was identified as the alleged shooter in the case. The suspect identified was Carlos Alberto Flores, 32 yrs. old
On Wednesday July 15, 2009 at approximately 11pm a local independent school district police department officer witnessed a Ford Focus driving in the wrong direction on Hidalgo and Main Ave. The school district officer, a certified Texas Peace Officer, conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. Flores was in the vehicle with another male adult, driver, and a male juvenile. The officer searched the vehicle and found two handguns and ran the names of the passengers for warrants. The warrant for Flores appeared in the warrant check and he was arrested for the outstanding murder warrant. Flores was transported to Laredo Police Headquarters and was interviewed by Investigators. He was transported to Webb County for Murder Felony 1 with no bond.
