15 Month Old Child Drowns in a Paint Can of Water

Laredo Police are investigating the tragic death of a 15 month old girl at a residence on the 4500 block of Hachar Lane in south Laredo. The 911 call came in at approximately 11 pm on July 28, 2009 when a mother discovered her daughter was unconscious inside a paint can used as a mop bucket filled with water and floor cleaner. 911 operators gave CPR to the child while emergency crews arrived. The child was taken to Laredo Medical Center where she was pronounced dead moments after arrival. The Webb County Medical Examiner was called and will conduct an autopsy. Laredo Police Homicide Detectives are investigating this case as a death investigation.
