Although, the City of Laredo Health Department (CLHD) has not received any reports for the past three (3) days we have received confirmation from the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) laboratory system on four (4) pending suspects. In total the City of Laredo now has 39 confirmed cases. All cases are well, have recovered, none are hospitalized and there is no secondary spread.
Laredo/Webb New Cases: 2 year old female, 25 year old Female and two (2) 28 year old Males
Persons should continue practicing preventive measures with hygiene and respiratory precautions (cover mouth when coughing and wash hands, cover with tissue and wash hands, cough into your elbow and wash hands, wash before and after using bathroom facilities and before you handle food). If you have fever greater than 100.4, cough with flu like symptoms (extreme muscle aching and/or diarrhea and vomiting) stay home call your doctor, especially if they are part of the primary risk group stated above and follow the doctor’s care.
We would like to again remind the public that we are moving into a sentinel reporting system (taking reports from designated providers) as we do in seasonal flu and will only be providing updates on the number of cases once a week.
