BRONCOS TO HOST 2 EXHIBITION GAMES THIS WEEKEND

June 3, 2009-Laredo, TX- The Laredo Broncos of the United League announce that they well be hosting 2 exhibition games on Friday June 5th and Saturday June 6th at Veterans Field.
“This is a great opportunity for the fans of the Laredo Broncos to come out and see the team we have assembled for the 2009 season,” says Broncos General Manager Jose Melendez. “And not only do you get to watch the Broncos, but you get to see them go up against some of the best talent that Laredo has. It should be a very fun weekend”
On Friday June 5th, the Broncos will take on a team of Laredo’s top baseball products from the Laredo Wooden Bat Adult League. That will include such prospects as Luis Pollorena and Homer Ortiz. Jose Luis Maldonado the President of the Laredo Wooden Bat League can’t wait for the competition. “It is going to be a great entertaining evening for baseball on Friday night. I look forward to the watching my team take on the Broncos. This is a great opportunity for them to get to play against some of the best professional baseball talent you will find.”
Then on Saturday June 6th, the Broncos will take on a team from the Laredo Adult Baseball League. The league has been around for 10 years and 98% of the league’s talent is local and high school players. The Laredo Adult Baseball League President Marcos Escamilla is ready for his team to take on the Broncos. “We are excited to play the Broncos in this exhibition game. We want all of Laredo to come out and support the Broncos as well as all the local talent we have on our squad.”
The Broncos are also very excited to have the opportunity to play against some of the best talent Laredo has to offer. “We can’t wait to take on both of these squads,” says Broncos field manager Ricardo Cuevas. “Not only does this give the local players a chance to play against the professionals, but it is also a great way for the Broncos to prepare for the 2009 season.”
Both exhibition games will start at 7:30 at Veterans Field and are sponsored by the City of Laredo Parks & Recreation Department. Admission will be free and the concession stands will be open. This is a great opportunity for the City of Laredo to come out and see the exciting baseball action that will be taking place at Veterans Field during the 2009 season.
The Laredo Broncos begin their 4th season in 2009. The Broncos will play an 80 game season from June to September with 36 home games at Veterans Field.
