A.V.I. System Upgrade Goes Into Effect July 1

Last day to exchange transponder tags is June 30, 2009
In 2008, the City of Laredo International Bridge System upgraded the Automatic Vehicle Identification (A.V.I.) System from a single protocol reader to a multi-protocol reader system. This system will no longer read the current transponder tags, but rather, a sticker tag. A.V.I. customers are encouraged to visit their customer service centers by June 30, 2009 to exchange their tags for stickers to avoid interruption in service. Effective July 1, 2009, the transponder tag will no longer function.
Customers currently enrolled in the SENTRI, CAPUFE, FAST and/or XPRESS programs are not required to obtain a new sticker tag but must register their current SENTRI, CAPUFE, FAST and/or XPRESS tags with Laredo Bridge System in order to utilize the A.V.I. System.
For more information, please call the Laredo Trade Tag Customer Service Centers at Bridge II at 956-795-2055 or World Trade Bridge (Bridge IV) at 956-791-2200.
