The Roadrunners would jump out to the early lead off of Broncos starter
Gregorio Martinez in the 2nd inning.  With one out Eric Gonzalez walked and
went to 2nd on a single by Amado German.  Then Angel Reyes delivered a 2 run
double scoring both Gonzalez and German.  Reyes would move to 3rd on the
throw trying to get German at home.   Then Ozzie Flores reached on a
throwing error by Miguel Ortiz which allowed Reyes to score.  That gave
Edinburg the early 3-0 lead.

The Broncos would get on the board in the top half of the 3rd inning against
Edinburg’s starter Eric Montoya.  With 1 out Ryan Flynn singled and then
advanced to 2nd on a single by Steven Wright.  Then OJ Garza hit a dribbler
that Edinburg’s shortstop Angel Reyes threw into the Roadrunners dugout,
which allowed Flynn to score, Wright to advance to 3rd and Garza would go to
2nd.  Andres “El Monkey” Santos then hit a rbi ground out scoring Wright and
making the score 3-2.

Both Martinez and Montoya would settle down after that and keep the game a 1
run game till the bottom of the 6th inning.  Vincent Blue led off the inning
with a double and went to 3rd on a wild pitch.  Carlos Hereaud then hit a
sacrifice fly scoring Blue and making the score 4-2.

Martinez would run into trouble again in the 7th inning.  With one out Angel
Reyes singled and went to 2nd when Miguel Ortiz’s throw went out of play.
After an Ozzie Flores walk, Robert Matlock singled to load the bases.  That
would do it for Martinez as Rene Ledesma came into the game.  While facing
Nick Aranda, Ledesma threw a wild pitch allowing Reyes to score and Flores
and Matlock to move to 2nd and 3rd.  Aranda would end up drawing a walk to
reload the bases.  Vincent Blue then walked to allow Flores to score and
keep the bases loaded. Carlos Hereaud then stepped up and delivered a 2 run
double scoring Matlock and Aranda.  That would knock out Ledesma as Nathan
Crawford came into the game.  Crawford was greeted with a 2 run double by
Bryan Smith that would make the score 10-2 in favor of Edinburg.

Gregorio Martinez would be in line for the loss after pitching 6 1/3
innings.  He gave up 7 runs 5 of which were earned on 7 hits.  He walked 4
batters and struck out 3.
