On April 14, 2009 the Laredo Police Department began to investigate a purse theft that was captured on video at a local store in which a man stole a purse from a woman’s shopping cart then gave the purse to a female accomplice. The pair then went on a shopping spree with the stolen credit cards from that purse. The couple was identified and warrants of arrest were issued for Bernadette Molina and Jimmy Lee Soliz. The pair did not live in Laredo. Soliz was stopped for a traffic violation and arrested in Bruni, Texas. The suspect was extradited to Laredo for the pending warrant. Molina was picked up at her home in Hebbronville, Tx by officers assigned to the U.S. Marshal’s fugitive task force. She was returned to Laredo to answer for the outstanding warrant. Both were held under a $100,000 bond each set by J.P. Oscar Liendo.
