C.R. England Donates Backpacks and School Supplies to UISD & LISD Students

(Laredo, Texas)-C.R. England Global Transportation and its industry partners donated 800 backpacks, along with $15 school supply vouchers to students from UISD and LISD during a press conference held on August 4 at the Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) Western Hemisphere Trade Center.
“We are pleased to be participating with both the United Independent School District and the Laredo Independent School District this year in our backpack and school supply donation program,” said Dean England, Co-Chairman of C. R. England. Dave Akers, President of the C. R. England Mexico Division, stated that the company started the school supply initiative in 2011 with a donation of 400 backpacks. “Now, C.R. England, together with our peer group, has donated more than double that amount in backpacks and vouchers in 2015- and we plan to further increase donations in the the coming years”, said Akers.
UISD Superintendent Roberto J. Santos stated that C.R. England’s generous donations ensures that students will have what they need for a great start to the school year. “We greatly appreciate C.R. England’s annual donations. Students and their families benefit greatly from their generosity, ” he concluded.
