Malakoff Elementary Presents Their Robotics Team

(Laredo, Texas)-Dr. M.E. Malakoff Elementary School’s Armored Knights Robotics team, displayed their hard work at this years Gifted and Talented Showcase which was recently held at the United I.S.D. Student Activity Center.
The team incorporated the use of S.T.E.M. (science, technology, engineering and math) with the young minds to step up to this year’s first Lego League “2014 World Class Learning Unleashed” challenge. These students in collaboration with UETM Robotics members and their sponsor, Laura Rodriguez, used the LEGO NXT Mindstorms Robotic Kit and Software, to design, build, and program their robots to accomplish each mission.
This is the second year the Armored Knights have worked on such challenges. Last year they worked on LEGO Green City. Principal Anna Martinez is proud of the team for showing great enthusiasm for engineering and science. The team is under the direction of Adriana Lara, Blanca Soliz, and Adan Soliz.
