Laredo, TX – Family Chevrolet, Uni-Trade Stadium and the Laredo Lemurs are excited to announce that two of the Mexican Leagues most successful franchises will be coming to Laredo to play in spring training exhibition games in Laredo this March.  The Cancun Tigres, who won the Mexican League Championship in 2013, will play two games at Uni-Trade Stadium.  The first of the two games will take place on Saturday, March 22^nd against the Veracruz Eagles at 7:00pm. 

The Veracruz Red Eagles won the Mexican League Championship in 2012.The second spring training game will take place on Monday, March 24^th with the Cancun Tigres taking on an All Star team from Nuevo Laredo (“Tecos”) at 7:00pm.  Both Mexican League teams are on their way to play spring training exhibition Games against Major League teams.  The Cancun Tigres will play the Texas Rangers on March 28^th in Arlington, TX and the  Veracruz Red Eagles will take on the Houston Astros on March 27^th.  What an amazing opportunity for baseball fans to see Mexican League Baseball in their own backyard”, stated Mark Schuster, owner of the Lemurs.  “Mexican League Baseball is the highest level of affiliated baseball (Triple-A Baseball) behind the Major Leagues and we are fortunate to have attracted them to Laredo before they go to play the Rangers and the Astros.  Tickets for these Mexican League spring training games go on sale this Friday, January 24^th at 10:00am.  You can get tickets online or by calling (956)7LEMURS.  You can also purchase tickets at the Uni-Trade Stadium box office during regular business hours.
