Man Accidently Run Over by his own Jeep

(Laredo, Tx)-Tuesday evening an auto pedestrian accident was reported to police. A male victim identified as Joshua Perez, was in serious condition with severe internal bodily injuries. The patient was about to be flown to a San Antonio hospital for further treatment for his injuries.
Preliminary information from the Patrol Supervisor is that Joshua Perez was doing mechanic work underneath his Jeep while his 19 year old brother, identified as Emanuel Perez Jr., was inside the driver seat. The older brother asked his younger brother to place the Jeep’s manual transmission in neutral and then turn on the ignition.
Apparently, when the driver turned on the ignition the transmission was not placed in neutral, thus the Jeep thrust forward and ran over Joshua Perez who was knelt down near the front of the jeep while working on the Jeep’s suspension. According to the official report the injured victim waited an entire 20 minutes before he decided to go to the hospital.
The victim was driven to the hospital by relatives in a personal vehicle. This accident happened inside the parking lot by the Dorel Apartments located by 300 block of Bob Bullock Loop the accident remains under investigation.
