(Laredo, Tx)-Derek Esparza, Quarterback for the UnitedLonghorns Football Team, has been nominated for the Gridiron Legends Player of the Week Award, presented by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football on behalf of Cavender’s and Wrangler.
Derek is one of ten nominees eligible for the weekly statewide award. Winners of the award are determined by 100% fan votes. We urge all Longhorn fans to vote for Derek Esparza by visiting the Texas Football Page, located at www.texasfootball.com. The poll closes this Friday, November 22 at 12 noon.
David Sanchez, United Longhorns Head Football Coach, shared his sentiments about Derek. “Derek leads by example, and the proof is in all the hard work he has put in over the past four years. Over that time he has established himself as a respected player who sets a greatexample through his hard work, determination and leadership skills”, said Sanchez.
“I am honored to be nominated for this award. My teammates and I have been working extremely hard since the summer,” said Esparza. “It would mean a lot to me to be the recipient of the Gridiron Legends Player of the Week.” he concluded.
