Killam Elementary Concludes Week with Anti-Bully Parade

(Laredo, Tx)-During the week of November 18, Killam Elementary held a series on-campus programs designed to raise student awareness about bullying. The week’s activities concluded with a customary pep rally in the gym followed by a parade in the campus’ corridors. This year’s special guest was Huggy the Bear, from the office of Webb County Attorney Isidro Alaniz.
Assistant Principal Michelle Cantu said that Killam teachers and staff make it a priority to teach students the value of respect for others. “We want all of our students to enjoy coming to school. We want them to feel comfortable and safe so that they can concentrate on learning, The anti-bullying activities at Killam carry an important message that stays with the students. We’ve seen great results and we continue to develop more projects that promote positive behaviors and attitudes in our students”, said Cantu.
