Mayor Speaks to Students of Centeno Elementary “Remembering 9/11”

Laredo, TX: Mayor Raul G. Salinas recently visited Rodolfo Centeno Elementary to talk to 5th grade students about the events that occurred on September 11th, 2001. The Mayor was in attendance at the invitation of Analine L. Johnson, School Librarian at Centeno Elementary, as part of a project that she, her staff and students are working on called “Remembering 9/11: Telling your story”. The project involves members of the community sharing their perspectives and experiences of the event.
“It was an honor to participate and share a message of hope to our most precious resource; our future”, Mayor Salinas said. The students had an opportunity to ask thought-provoking questions and share insightful perspectives relating to 9/11 with the Mayor. The event took place in the school library where students and faculty attended..
