Crime Stoppers Tip Leads to Drug Bust

On January 20,2009, The Webb County Sheriff Office Crime Stoppers Division, received information on a residence located at the 1300 blk. of S, Malinche selling narcotics to minors.  While Deputies attempted to investigate the tip, deputies observed two male subjects run out the back door of the residence and into their neighbors yard.  While in pursuit of the subjects deputies observed another individual later identified as Arturo Riojas Jr. 19 years of age, who resides at the 1500 blk. of Piedra China, Laredo Texas, smoking a …

Meets President Obama, invites Secretary of Transportation to Laredo and
confirms Energy Efficiency Block Grant
 Washington, DC—Thurs, Jan 21, 2010, 4:45 p.m. —City of Laaredo Mayor Raul G. ( Laredo , TX): The January 12th earthquake in Haiti has claimed nearly 100,000 lives and left nearly 1 million people homeless. The country, already one of the poorest in the world, has been devastated by this tragedy.
 We, in Laredo , can help ease their suffering and aid in their rebuilding efforts by giving to the Laredo Haitian Relief Project.
 Established by Mayor Raul Salinas and coordinated by volunteer citizen Tricia Cortez, the Laredo Haitian Relief Project includes numerous partners throughout the city, including the Laredo Heat Soccer Club.

 Today Friday, January 22, 2010, at 8:00 a.m., AEP contractor North Houston Pole Line will be closing one lane of the east/west traffic of Country Club Drive at Plantation East Drive, as they remove and replace a transmission power line pole.  The closure will last until approximately 5:00 p.m.
