Man Arrested for Owing $43,000 in Fines to Municipal Court

 This morning the Laredo Police Department’s warrant division arrested 27 year old Isaac Villarreal Jr. for having 133 outstanding warrants of arrest.  The combined owed on citations, since he was 10 years old, totals $43,219.50.  He was picked at his home and taken to Webb County Jail in lieu of the total owed.  The Laredo Police Department recommends to anyone that if they owe money to Municipal Court that they make financial arrangements with the Municipal Court Judge.

 The Laredo Independent School District arrested a central office employee and placed a campus administrator on leave for failure to report the abandonment and neglect of four young children in early September.  One of the children, two-year-old Katherine Cardenas, was later found deceased in her west Laredo home. 
 LISD Police Officers arrested district attendance officer Ricardo Perez on Tuesday afternoon for his failure to notify Child Protective Services of the abandonment of Cardenas and her brothers and sisters.  Perez, who was charged with a Class B …

CenterPoint Energy crews will be closing the southbound west lane of the 3000 and 3100 block of San Bernardo, due to emergency maintenance repairs by CenterPoint Energy in the area.  The closure will be for several hours TODAY, Tuesday, October 13, 2009.

 TODAY, Tuesday, October 13, 2009, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., thanks to today’s pleasant weather, TX DOT, working with City of Laredo crews, have closed the south-bound, eastern most (left inside) lane, between Mile Marker #5 through Mile Marker #3, to clean-up the grate inlets.                       
Traffic will be detoured to IH 35 southbound frontage road.           
The traveling public should be prepared to stop and/or slow down and watch out for the maintenance crews working on the cleanup and/or traffic control.

(Laredo) The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League will hold the official road watch party for Friday night’s (Oct 16th) regular season opener at Coyote Creek, located at 4615 San Bernardo. The party starts a 6:30pm, with face off set for 7:05pm in Bossier-Shreveport.
