The University continues to monitor the  H1N1 Flu (Swine Flu) Emergency Event.  The University’s web site, tamiu.edu,  is being updated daily with information for University students, faculty and staff and the updated information is also provided by email.

Webb County Sheriff’s Office Seized $171,520 in US Currency

Laredo, Texas – On May, 04, 2009, at approximately 12 noon, Webb County Sheriff’s Deputies initiated a traffic stop at mile marker 25 on IH 35. Deputies conducted the traffic stop on  a Honda compact car bearing Mexico License plates, Deputies interviewed  a female driver who was carrying a 5 year old in the vehicle.  As Deputies interviewed the driver,  they analyzed conflicting stories as to her destination or visits in the United States.  The driver gave Deputies consent to search the vehicle, as Deputies proceeded to search, they observed …

New Date for Postponed Heat Game Announced

Monday, May 4, 2009 ( Laredo , TX):  The United Soccer Leagues (USL), the Rio Grande Valley Bravos and the Laredo Heat agreed today to play the initial Premier Development League (PDL) 2009 Season Opener originally scheduled for this past weekend between the two clubs but postponed due to health concerns regarding the H1N1 virus to Monday, May 25, 2009 (Memorial Day) at 7:30 PM at Valley View High School in Hidalgo, TX.

BRONCOS SIGN 7 PLAYERS TO CONTRACTS

May 4, 2009-Laredo, TX- The Laredo Broncos of the United League announce that they have agreed to terms with 7 players for the 2009 season.  The players are C Kylee Hash, C Alexis Osuna, Utility Jaime Morales, 1B Robert Moron, 1B/OF Cleveland Brownlee, 2B Miguel Ortiz, and P Gustavo Vazquez.
