Registration is currently underway for Computer Courses offered by Texas A&M International University’s Division of International Programs. If you have ever wanted to acquire computer skills to help you get a better job or to be better at what you do, these are the courses for you! Classes available include Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Publisher and Windows and the Internet. The first course is offered Wednesday, Nov. 10. The courses will be taught at a beginner and intermediate level. Texas A&M International University will host an on-campus recruitment for the U.S. Border Patrol, today from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Student Center East Entrance. The U.S. Border Patrol is hiring agents to work for the nation’s largest single border agency, protecting the American people from terrorism, drug smuggling, and illegal entry into our country. If you are between the ages of 18 and 39, a U.S. Citizen and a resident for the past 3 years, have a valid driver’s license, pass a thorough background investigation, medical examination, fitness test and drug test, you are encouraged to apply. Texas A&M International University College of Arts and Sciences Center for the Fine and Performing Arts presents the new fall exhibit, “High 5.” The exhibit presents artwork by Southern Methodist University, Dallas graduate art students. Admission is free and open to the public. The exhibit will be on display from Oct. 21 through Nov. 18. Early registration is $75 and $25 for STWP teacher consultants and TAMIU students and faculty. Hear the popular songs of the ‘40s, ‘50s, ‘60s, ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s at the American Pop Music Concert, today at 7 p.m. in the Texas A&M International University Center for the Fine and Performing Arts (CFPA) Recital Hall. This concert is an opportunity for students, faculty, staff and the community to go back in time to listen to the music of the ‘good old days’ during social changes in American history. The program consists of songs from the swing era, soul music, folk music, doo-wop, Latin music influences, 1970s, and country.
