Grindco’s Motopsycho Mania at the L.E.C. July 4th


May 26, 2009 (LAREDO, TX) The Laredo Entertainment Center is ecstatic to announce an Independence Day event like no other… Grindco’s Motopsycho Mania! Live at the LEC on Saturday July 4, 2009 at 4:30pm.
What do you get when you combine Free-style motor cross, X-treme street racing, The Globe of Death, and a Rock Concert? Grinco’s Motopsycho Mania! “This show package is an extreme motorcycles and music event with some unique ‘twists’ put on the current sports popularized lately” said Roy Medina, General Manager for the SMG-managed Laredo Entertainment Center. “What better way to spend the 4th of July with a high-flying, speed-racing, and dare-devil concert event all packaged at an extremely affordable price” added Medina.
• Globe of Death-a new twist on an old extreme sport! 20’ tall steel cage that up to 3 fearless riders will amaze the crowd performing single and double man routines.
• Freestyle Moto X- The show features Top level FMX name athletes such as Dustin Miller, Beau Bamberg, Mike Mason, Matt Buyten, Adam Jones, Doug Parsons and more. Trick jumping over 70 ft ramp to ramp set up.
• X-treme Street Bikers-modified street bike riders “tricking” and amazing audiences vertical wheelies, nose wheelies, and with what they can do on flat ground with these high-powered machines.
The main event features the hard rock band named “A Means to an End” from Los Angeles, CA. They are currently documenting their tour for their upcoming reality TV show and more information can be found on their webpage on www.myspace.com/meanstoanend. The best part of this is that a local rock band will have an opportunity to be the opening act for this unique event. The LEC will host the “Battle Rock” Competition on Friday, June 26th at 7pm. This event will be free to the public and will be open to all rock bands. The competition rules and registration form can be picked up at the LEC’s Main Entrance. Only 10 bands will be allowed to compete and the winner will be the “People’s choice”. Bands wanting to take part in the competition must turn in a demo along with the registration form as soon as possible.
In addition to the “Mania”, a fireworks display will take place in front of the Laredo Entertainment Center immediately after the concert ends; thus giving everyone a chance to enjoy our nation’s day of Independence. “What’s the 4th of July without fireworks” exclaimed Medina!

Tickets go on sale this Friday, May 29th at the LEC box office, www.ticketmaster.com, and all Ticketmaster outlets at 10:00am. Ticket prices are: $5 for children 2-12 yrs of age, $10 Adults, and $20 VIP seating (plus facility fee). All tickets will be $2.00 more day of the show.
