Laredo, Texas – Webb County Sheriff Martin Cuellar welcomes Law Enforcement Officers from throughout the United States to a 3 day training conference from July 13 – 15, 2010. This State and Local Law Enforcement Training Symposium, is a tuition free training opportunity presented by the Department of Homeland Security/Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, Co-hosted by the Webb County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Center for Border Economics and Enterprise Development at Texas A&M International University.
“Looking forward in attending and learning how and what other law enforcement agencies are applying to deter Criminal Activity and at the same time network with the other law enforcement agencies.” Sheriff Carlos Carrizales Jr. (Bee County. Beeville, Texas)
This training will offer dynamic workshops for sworn Law Enforcement Officers from state, local, campus, and tribal agencies. These highly requested courses are presented by subject matter experts from law enforcement agencies across the United States. This training is certified by TCLEOSE.

Training topics include: Roadside Interview & Interrogation, Active Shooter, Aircraft Mission Procedure, Officer Survival, Homicide Investigations, interview & Interrogation, Concealed Weapons, Domestic Violence, Leadership: Behavior (Supervisors Only), Human Trafficking and Threat Assessment.
“While we will not always share the same vision on every issue, there is much we can learn from one another, this training will become instrumental as our officers face challenges out on the field. I will continue to expand the opportunities for The Webb County Sheriff’s Office and any other Law Enforcement Agency near us that doesn’t have the resources to bring training to their area”. Sheriff Martin Cuellar stated.
