Webb County officials as well as representatives from the Sheriff’s Department will be on hand Friday, June 18 for the formal signing of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Webb County and the Sheriff’s Bargaining Unit.
The ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. at Commissioners Court located in the Webb County Courthouse, 1000 Houston Street and is also open to the public.
The contract, which has been in negotiations between the County and the Sheriff’s Bargaining association members, was given final approval during Monday’s Webb County Commissioners Court meeting.
Webb County Judge Danny Valdez said he is glad to see that an agreement has been reached and says that the six year contract will benefit both parties involved because it will classify positions into pay steps within the bargaining unit while making adjustments to deputy’s salaries over a period of time.
