June 12^th, EDINBURG, TX-The Broncos took a 5-4 lead into the eighth only to give up a run in the eighth and then lose the game in the ninth on an RBI double by Carlos Hereaud that gave the Road Runners the 6-5 victory.

RHP Juan Peralta (0-1) made his second start for the Broncos since coming over in a trade with the White Wings.  A spot start for the Road Runners put LHP Robbie Nelson (0-0) on the mound. 

Nelson would retire the first two Bronco hitters in the first on three pitches when Kenny Gilbert hit a two out triple.  With Nick Mahin batting Nelson threw a wild pitch and the Broncos took a 1-0 lead.

In the bottom of the first against Peralta, Wilmer Pino walked to start the inning.  Pino then stole second then Carlos Hereaud singled to move Pino to third.  A passed ball on Jake Wells allowed Pino to come home and tie the game at 1-1.

The Road Runners would take the lead once again in the second inning with a solo home run off the bat of Osiel Flores. 2-1 Road Runners.

In the bottom of the third Edinburg would add one more run with a two out single followed by an RBI double by Robert Matlock to make the score 3-1 Edinburg.

The Broncos inched closer in the top of the fourth David Fowler reached on an infield single, a groundout moved him to second and a single moved him to third.  Jason Diaz knocked him in with a single and the score 3-2 Road Runners.

In the top of the fifth Nick Mahin hit his first home run of 2010, a solo shot that tied the game at 3-3.

The Road Runners would take the lead again in the bottom of the sixth. Peralta was still on the mound for the Road Runners and he walked Concepcion.  A single by Matlock moved him to third base and a double play ball off the bat of Alexis Hernandez knocked Concepcion in and the score was 4-3 Road Runners. 

The Baseball defense gods abandoned the Road Runners in the top of the seventh after a Gilbert fly out, Mahin singled.  Doug Thennis then reached on a fielder’s choice.  ON the play there was a throwing error that allowed Mahin to go third base and Thennis to move up to second base. 

The next batter was Ryan Flynn who lined out to Wilmer Pino at second base.  Pino tried to throw behind Mahin at third and the ball went into the dugout and that allowed both Mahin and Thennis to score and give the Broncos a 5-4 lead. 

In the bottom of the eighth Jeff Jamnik would start the inning and retire the first two batters hw would face.  Vinnie Dechristofaro was brought in and he allowed a single.  Next came Jonathan Miller into the game and he walked the only two batters he faced to load the bases.  Finally Michael Lucas came into the game. He walked the first batter he faced which pushed across the tying run for Edinburg. 

With the score 5-5 in the ninth the Broncos stranded runners on first and third when Gabe Memmert hit into an inning ending double play.

In the bottom of the ninth with Lucas still on the mound he allowed a one out single to Wilson Batista and then a game ending RBI double to Carlos Hereaud and the Road Runners walked it off against the Broncos with a 6-5 win.
