In the top of the fourth he ran into trouble. A leadoff single by Kenny Gilbert started things off. Nick Mahin singled, followed by a Doug Thennis single to load the bases and bring Bradley Goldsmith to the plate. Goldsmith drilled a three run triple into the left center field gap to clear the bases and give the Broncos a 3-0 lead.
After a Jake Wells strike out, designated hitter Gabe Memmert came up and hit an RBI groundout to push the Bronco lead to 4-0. Santo in the fifth would walk T.J Warren to start things off; Corey Wine would single bringing up Jermel Lomack. Lomack would push an infield single up the first base line fielded by Hernandez and then thrown into right field. Warren came home to score on the hit to make it 4-1 Broncos. Lomack would attempt to steal second base, Jake Wells throw was errant and sailed into center field that allowed Wine to score and brought Lomack to third. After An Adam De La Graza strikeout Joaquin Rodriguez hit an RBI single to end the scoring in the fifth. 4-3 Broncos led going into the sixth.
Hernandez would start the bottom of the sixth for the Broncos after they failed to bring in Bradley Goldsmith, who hit his second triple of the game, from third with no outs.

T.J Warren then knocked Douglas in to tie the game at 4-4.
Corey Wine would strike out for the second out of the inning. Jermel Lomack walked and Adam De La Garza drilled the nail in the coffin with a two run triple to give the Dillas the 6-4 lead.
Manager Dan Firova had seen enough and pulled his embattled starter Santo Hernandez. In from the bullpen came Christian Staehely. Staehely immediately gave up an RBI single to Joaquin Rodriguez and then walked Carlos Figuera. With the score now 7-4 Dillas Alberto Cruz knocked in Rodriguez to make it 8-4. After Staehely hit Matt Ceriani, in his second at bat of the inning Stephen Douglas hit an RBI single to make the score 9-4 Dillas.
