Sheriff’s Office Crime Stoppers Call Leads to Cash, Marijuana and a Pistol

Laredo, Texas – On Thursday, May 14, 2010, Webb County Sheriff’s Deputies received a Crime Stoppers call that led them to the 500 block of Orleans. Upon arrival, Sheriff’s Deputies along with Laredo Police Department and Laredo Sector Immigration and Customs Enforcement discovered 23 pounds of marijuana, $9,944 in US currency and a Sig Sauer Brand Pistol with a tampered serial number. Officers also discovered two hidden compartments made to the house which stored drug related materials and components used to re-package. Officers arrested and charged 5 subjects with possession of marijuana, felony 3 and engaging in organized criminal activity, Class A misdemeanor. Arrested were Juan Elizondo Amaro, 23, Ernesto Rico Elizondo, 32, Julio Lopez de Vasquez, 37, Jesus Rigoberto Gamez, 28 and Eliseo De Luna Jr., 24. All subjects were transported to the Webb County jail pending magistration.
