Sheriff’s Deputies Discover Marijuana inside Duffle Bag

Laredo, Texas (Webb County) – On Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at approximately 11 a.m., Webb County Sheriff’s Deputies initiated a traffic stop on Highway 83 South, near Cielito Lindo Subdivision on a maroon in color GMC pickup truck. The driver of the vehicle refused to stop and evaded Sheriff’s Deputies. While evading deputies, the driver threw a large duffle bag out of the vehicle. As soon as the vehicle came to a stop, The driver and the passenger abandoned the vehicle and absconded into the brush area.
Sheriff’s Deputies discovered 15.2 pounds of marijuana inside the large duffle bag, with an estimated street value of $7,590. No arrest made at this time.
