Man Arrested by Marshals for Alleged Sex Crimes against Children

The US Marshal’s Task Force arrested Fernando Salas, age 50, for a 12 outstanding warrants. The warrants were for 1 count of Aggravated Sexual Assault, 1 count of Sexual Assault, and 10 counts of Indecency with a Child. All 12 warrants come with a combined bond of $1.2 million set by Justice of the Peace Veliz. The assault allegation spanned from 2001-2010 against 2 different female victims. Salas was arrested at a residence on the 200 block of Lincoln at 7:30 this morning by members of the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force. He booked and remanded to Webb County Jail. Investigators from the Special Investigations Unit handled this investigation.
