Courtesy Xochitl Mora,
While the Laredo City Council usually recognizes individuals in the community for their various accomplishments, the tables were turned on them tonight as the members of the Laredo City Council were recognized by Webb County Constable Rudy Rodriguez for their help and support for his annual initiative, Navidad en el Barrio, where he provides toys for 2,500 underprivileged children for Christmas. Thanks to the support specifically from Dist. IV Cm. Juan Narvaez and Dist. VI Cm. Gene Belmares, this year, Const. Rodriguez was able to provide bikes, laptops, various sports equipments, baby dolls, stuffed animals and the like. The challenge for them next year: double the amount of kids helped.
