There is no cost for the vaccine and it will be administered to everyone 6 months of age and older. We do want to remind persons in the priority groups to especially get vaccinated. These priority groups include:
- Pregnant women
- Household contacts and caregivers for children younger than 6 months of age
- Healthcare and emergency medical services personnel
- All persons from 6 months through 24 years of age
- Persons aged 25 through 64 years of age who have health conditions associated with higher risk of medical complications from influenza.
As we prepare for seasonal FLU we want to make sure all are protected against H1N1 and encourage the public to take advantage of this clinic. We appreciate the partnership with Doctors Hospital and our other local medical providers to assure we protect everyone against H1N1. Remember to also follow and practice good hygiene (cover your mouth when you cough, cough into your elbow, use disposable tissues and dispose of correctly, wash hands frequently and avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth if you have not washed your hands)
For more information regarding H1N1 and seasonal FLU, please contact 311 or the City of Laredo Health Department’s flu hotline at (956) 795-4921.
