Wal-Mart Lap Top Thieves Arrested

On Oct. 29, 2009, two suspects, a female and male, entered the Wal-Mart located on Loop 20. They took two laptops from the display area and walked out the store. Several minutes later, the duo returned and took two more laptops. The next day, Wal-Mart personnel filed a police report and provided a copy of the surveillance video showing the theft being committed. The video was aired by the local media and several tips were received with the identity of the suspects. The suspects were identified as Jennifer Avila D.O.B. 11-30-87 and Andres Felipe Avila D.O.B. 2-6-90. First found was Jennifer Avila and was interviewed by police investigators. She confessed to helping her brother, Andres, steal the laptops. Warrants were issued for both suspects. On Nov. 30, 2009, Andres Avila was arrested on warrant # C0911-10105 for Theft SJF. On Dec. 2, 2009, Jennifer Avila was arrested on warrant # CO911-10104 for Theft SJF. Both suspects were remanded to the Webb Co. Jail in lieu of a $50,000 bond each set by Judge Ricardo Rangel.
