Sheriff’s Deputies Seize 345 Pounds of Marijuana

Laredo, Texas (Webb County) – On Monday November 16, 2009, at approximately 5:00 p.m., The Webb County Sheriff’s Office seized 345.6 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop.
Sheriff’s Deputies initiated a traffic stop on a maroon Ford Expedition after observing a traffic violation on said vehicle which was traveling northbound on Hwy 83S. The driver eluded deputies after coming to a stop on Old Martin Road. The driver then absconded from officers towards the riverbanks. Deputies discovered 7 bundles of marijuana weighing 345.6 pounds with an estimated street value of $175,000. No arrests have been made and an investigation continues.
