Nov. 2-3 – Temporary Nighttime Closures resume on IH 35 NB and SB

LAREDO – Weather permitting November 2-4, 2009 from 9:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. on both days, temporary nighttime closures of IH 35 NB (northbound) and SB (southbound) will occur at the FM 1472 overpass project to facilitate installation of steel beams as part of the NB FM 1472 direct connector bridge.
All NB traffic will be required to exit at the Del Mar exit and use frontage road to access on-ramp south of Shiloh to return to NB IH 35.
SB IH 35 will be closed just south of Shiloh. All SB traffic must exit at the FM 1472/Del Mar/Santa Maria exit, and re-enter IH 35 at the entrance ramp just north of Mann Road.
For more efficient traffic control, the FM 1472 SB access loop will be closed to thru traffic and FM 1472 SB traffic will be directed to access southbound direct connector (SBDC) during the projected closures.
Police officers will be assisting with traffic control during closures. The traveling public should slow down, drive with extreme caution, and observe all safety signs, traffic control devices and flaggers in the work zone area.
NOTE – Other intermittent nighttime closures of IH 35 will occur until November 11 weather permitting.
