Webb County Sheriff’s Deputies Seize 317 Pounds of Marijuana

Laredo, Texas (Webb County) – On Wednesday, October 21, 2009, at approximately 6:45 am, Webb County Sheriff’s Deputies seized 317 pounds of marijuana.
Sheriff’s Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop approximately one mile North of Rio Bravo, the driver refused to stop, drove his vehicle unto the brush running through a fence line. Once the vehicle came to a complete stop, the driver abandoned the vehicle and absconded unto the brush area. Deputies then discovered 8 bundles of marijuana totaling to 317 pounds at an approximate street value of $160,000. The bundles were distributed between the front and back seat of the vehicle and some in the trunk of a 2001 Dodge Stratus, white in color. No arrests, Investigation continues.
