Crime Stoppers Tip Leads Sheriff’s Deputies To Abandoned Weapon

Laredo, Texas ( Webb County) – On Tuesday, October 20,2009, at approximately 10 am, The Webb county Sheriff’s office crime stoppers unit received a crime stoppers tip regarding an abandoned handgun at the intersection of pine and Canada Street, Laredo, Texas. Upon arrival Deputies found what appeared to be a weapon abandoned at that location, In anticipation that the weapon might have just been used in a crime, Deputies proceeded to secure the location while the Laredo Police Department arrived due to the fact that it was found within the city limits. The scene and weapon were handled by the Laredo police department.
