Courtesy Joe Martinez,

(Laredo, Texas)-For the first time in three matchups The LaredoBuzz Basketball Team secures a win over Team Loaded. Team Loaded had previously beaten the LaredoBuzz Team two games last year once in the regular season in a lopsided score that favored Team Loaded and the second time during the playoffs giving LaredoBuzz a loss in the opening game of the playoff bracket Loaded won that game by one point.

The key to last tonight’s huge win was great hustle and discipline as LaredoBuzz took and protected a slim lead throughout the game.
During the offseason LaredoBuzz regrouped under the watchful eye of local talent scout Juan Renteria and Coach Joe Martinez who was actually recruited himself after a two week retirement after the final season of his run as a coach with Suga Show.
Key acquisitions during the offseason have given them a more mature, disciplined, solid roster to start the 2026 City of Laredo A-Division Summer League.

LaredoBuzz signed veteran players in John John C Achebe who had been on the roster for Team Howland in back to back championship runs, Jose Peña, and Diego De Leoń who were also well known players familiar to championship caliber games have been on championship teams with Bad Boys.

A late minute signing by Devin Stallings who also was on a Championship Team with a previous B Division Team whom also played with Suga Show during its first champions game appearance, add Louie Ibarra into the mix with championship experience his last one being with Suga Show before a near career ending injury kept him sidelned for two seasons all theres signings were a blessing to an already stacked team in LaredoBuzz that already counted on its core players from last season returning in Jacob and Ray Treviño, Jay Gonzalez, Carlos Rocha, Jonathan Bravo, and E.J. Palacios whom is also a member of the LaredoBuzz Coaching staff having earned his first win as a coach this week to improve his coaching record to 1-1 dating back to last season.

With 8 games to go The LaredoBuzz Basketball Team sits on a 2-0 record headed into next weeks key matchup against the tough as nails ONSCENE Basketball Team that beat the Buzz last year in a game that could have gone either way.

Last night’s leading scorers for LaredoBuzz were John John C Achebe with 27 points and 7 rebounds, Jonathan Bravo with 8 points and 5 rebounds, Diego De Leon with 6 points, Ray Treviño with 6 points, Jacob Treviño with 6 Points, Jay Gonzalez with 3 points and 3 rebounds, Carlos Rocha with 4 points and 3 rebounds.
