LAREDO, Texas – The City of Laredo and the City Secretary’s Office are inviting residents to apply for volunteer positions on its various boards, committees, and commissions.
These advisory groups play an essential role in supporting the City Council and staff by providing input, recommendations, and community perspective on a wide range of issues that impact daily life in Laredo.

Serving on a board, committee, or commission provides residents with a meaningful opportunity to participate in local governance, share ideas, and contribute to the continued growth and development of the community.
Individuals interested in serving must meet the following requirements:
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must have resided within the city limits for at least one year
- Must be a registered voter in the City of Laredo
- Must not be employed by the City of Laredo or hold any other City office

Residents can view a full list of current vacancies by visiting the City of Laredo website at cityoflaredo.com or by scanning the QR code available on official City materials.
Availability varies by board, committee, and commission, and not all groups have vacancies at this time.
Individuals wishing to be considered must contact the respective City Council Member’s office for their district, or the Mayor’s Office, through their designated assistants. Placement is dependent on current openings and the needs of each board or committee.

The City encourages all qualified residents to consider this opportunity to get involved and make a meaningful impact through civic engagement.
