LAREDO, Texas – The City of Laredo, in partnership with District 5 Council Member Ruben Gutierrez, Jr., will host Laredo Mud Fiesta 2.0: “Down & Dirtier for Health” on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Jovita Idar’s El Progreso Park, located at 6002 Thomas Ave. (corner of Bartlett and Gale), beginning at 8:00 a.m.

The City is proud to partner with Awareness Warriors, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting mental health awareness, suicide prevention, and community connection, particularly among veterans.
Laredo Mud Fiesta 2.0 is a purpose-driven mud challenge designed to bring veterans and the community together through movement, resilience, and shared support. Built around the message “depression hates a moving target,” the event encourages participants to stay active, foster meaningful connections, and help break the stigma surrounding mental health.

Participants will take on a muddy, obstacle-style course designed for all fitness levels, offering both a competitive challenge and an engaging community experience centered on wellness, connection, and saving lives.

The event has already generated strong interest, with more than 800 participants registered from Laredo and across the state.
