Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Cesar Chavez Archway to Take Place in Downtown Laredo

LAREDO, Texas – The City of Laredo and Mayor Dr. Victor D. Treviño invite the public to attend a groundbreaking ceremony for the Cesar Chavez Archway on Monday, January 12, 2026 at 9:00 a.m.
The City will pay tribute to the iconic civil rights activist and American labor leader by establishing an archway in the heart of Downtown Laredo to honor Cesar Chavez and his lasting legacy. Members of the Cesar Chavez Memorial Alliance of South Texas, an organization dedicated to upholding his legacy locally, will be in attendance.
The event will take place on Monday January 12th at 9:00 am. at 1000 Zaragoza St. In front of Tack Room across from La Posada Hotel.
