Swearing-In Ceremony of the Honorable Judge Eduardo “Wayo” Davila, Jr.

LAREDO, Texas – The City of Laredo invites the community to attend the formal swearing-in ceremony of the Honorable Judge Eduardo “Wayo” Davila, Jr., as Municipal Court Judge for Position 2. Judge Davila was appointed by City Council in August 2025, becoming the first to hold this position created by a voter-approved Charter amendment in November 2024.

Judge Davila brings more than a decade of legal experience in criminal prosecution, private practice, municipal adjudication, and bar leadership. He has served as Associate Municipal Court Judge for the City of Laredo since May 2019, presiding over dozens of bench and jury trials. A graduate of Alexander High School, St. Mary’s University, and Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law, Judge Davila is committed to ensuring fair, efficient, and accessible justice for the Laredo community.

The ceremony takes place Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 12:00 noon at the Laredo Municipal Court located at 4610 Maher Ave.
