LAREDO, TEXAS – The City of Laredo is alerting the public of fraudulent emails currently circulating in the community. These deceptive messages falsely claim to be from the Planning Department and attempt to solicit payments by attaching fabricated invoices.

The City of Laredo emphasizes that it takes the protection of residents and their personal information with the highest level of seriousness. At this time, all legitimate payments are accepted exclusively through the City’s official Click2Gov online payment portal or in person at authorized City offices. No other online payment channels are in use.
Residents are urged to remain vigilant and take precautions:
Verify the sender’s email address before responding.
Hover over links before clicking to ensure their authenticity.
Only rely on trusted sources, such as the City’s official website, www.CityofLaredo.com, when handling payments or verifying information.
Anyone who believes they have received one of these fraudulent emails is encouraged to contact the Planning and Zoning Department immediately at (956) 794-1613. City staff are available to answer questions regarding pending fees or payments.
