Woman arrested on charges stemming from “maquinitas” robbery

Laredo, TX – On Wednesday, July 31, 2024, the Webb County Sheriff’s Office arrested Rosalinda Puente, 34, in El Cenizo and served her with an arrest warrant charging her with robbery F/2.
The incident stems from a robbery that occurred last month at a “maquinitas” establishment located on the 1200 block of Espejo Molina in Rio Bravo. The victim reported that an unknown individual entered the establishment and forcefully took money from her. That same night, the suspect was identified as Sergio Javier Torres, 19. He was arrested and remanded to the Webb County Jail.
During the investigation, Puente was found to be Torres’s aunt and was also present during the robbery. Torres admitted that he and Puente planned and committed the robbery. Puente was remanded to the Webb County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
