City of Laredo, Laredo College, and Workforce Solutions for South Texas distribute exam vouchers to 62 LVN Students

LAREDO, Texas – The City of Laredo, Laredo College, and Workforce Solutions for South Texas hosted an event at Laredo College South Campus on Monday, July 8, 2024, to distribute Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Exam vouchers to 62 LVN students enrolled through the Laredo CARES 3.0 program and that completed the LVN course. The vouchers received by the students will cover the entire cost of the exam for each student.
The Laredo CARES Program is a workforce skills, development, and certification program for individuals in the community who may have had their employment statuses negatively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and is aimed at strengthening our local workforce in key industries throughout the city of Laredo.
This event could not be done without the support of the City of Laredo Mayor, Dr. Victor D. Treviño, City Council, Laredo College President, Dr. Minita Ramirez, the Laredo College Board, and Workforce Solutions for South Texas. These entities make these programs both available and successful for members of the community. A special thank you to Ms. Miriam M. Castillo, MBA, IOM for leading the City of Laredo’s Economic Development Department team throughout these initiatives.
