Laredo College Program Forges Careers in Homeland Security

(Laredo, Texas)-Laredo is a hub of a multitude of federal, state and local agencies dedicated to protecting the homeland. The Homeland Securities Studies Program (HSSP) at Laredo College is hosting a recruitment event at the LC Ft. McIntosh Campus De La Garza Building on Saturday April 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for those interested in a career in homeland security.
Since its inception in Spring 2021, the program has seen continual growth and expansion as it strives to offer Laredoans a workforce pathway to a respected and well-compensated career.HSSP is geared toward an enhanced experience that goes far beyond the classroom materials by providing on-site interactions with currently serving homeland security and emergency management professionals, guest speaker engagements and the lived experiences of practitioner instructors.
“Overall, careers in homeland security have a large impact and influence on Laredo’s emerging workforce,” Homeland Securities Studies Program Director Manuel Maciel said. “With a challenging career to look forward to, LC’s Homeland Security Studies Program will have you better prepared to assume the duties that will help keep our country safe.”
