Washington, DC – U.S. Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) released the following statement urging bilateral cooperation between the United States and Mexico in response to the current migration surge:
“It is critical that leadership at all levels of US and Mexico governments (federal, state, and local) work together to manage the ongoing migration surge, especially in a post Title 42 environment,” said Congressman Cuellar. “Large migrant populations will present public/migrant safety challenges that will impact local border communities as well as CBP port operations that facilitate legitimate trade and travel. Bi-national coordination of resources and efforts will significantly establish order and safety in our border communities.”
