(Laredo, Texas)-Ballistic vests play a vital role in protecting police officers against life-threatening situations and must be replaced every five years.
Thanks to a $34,809 grant from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation for 41 ballistic vests, the heroes of Webb County Sheriff’s Office will be better protected in the line of duty during hostile emergency situations.
The awarded equipment will protect those officers in the line of duty during hostile emergency situations by absorbing the impact and reducing or stopping the penetration to the torso from firearm projectiles.
Proceeds from purchases made at U.S. Firehouse Subs restaurants provided the funding for this grant award. To date, Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has granted over $4.5 million across the state of Texas.
