Rep. Cuellar Announces William Raymond as Congressional App Challenge Winner

Washington, DC– U.S. Congressman Henry Cuellar (D-TX-28) announced William Raymond as the winner of the 2021 Congressional App Challenge of the 28th Congressional District of Texas. William, a high school senior from Hector J. Garcia Early College High School, won the challenge with his app “Automotive Basics.” The app helps users familiarize themselves with their cars by serving as a guide for the different interior components of a vehicle and their purpose.
This year 70 students participated in the challenge in Texas-28.

I admire the effort and creativity you put forth in this challenge. I know you will represent the district very well in Washington. We’re all rooting for you, William! Congratulations!” said Congressman Cuellar. “The Congressional App Challenge is a great opportunity for young students to demonstrate, and be recognized for, their coding skills and at the same time a tool to motivate our youth to pursue much needed careers in computer science—Careers essential for the growth of our nation. Congratulations to every student who participated in this year’s Congressional App Challenge.”
