(Laredo, Texas)-United ISD’s New Teacher Orientation Sessions began on Monday, August 2, and will continue through Thursday, August 5. The sessions were hosted at Alexander High School’s 9th-grade campus and marked the commencement of the teacher induction process for newly certified teachers and teachers new to the district. The purpose of the sessions is to introduce teachers to the school district’s mission, goals, expectations, and procedures. The sessions began with a welcome message from Superintendent of Schools David H. Gonzalez.
“We are pleased to welcome our new teachers to our United ISD family. Our administrators, principals, and teachers are ready to welcome our students back into our classrooms and are fully committed to providing consistent and rigorous instruction daily. We are also focusing on the emotional well-being of our students as they readjust to receiving their academic instruction on campus,” said David H. Gonzalez, United ISD’s Superintendent. The first day of the 2021-2022 school year is Monday, August 16.
