Laredo, TX – Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) announces $6,750,000 in federal funding for the Laredo International Airport. This funding, awarded through the U.S. Department of Transportation, will be used for taxiway construction.
“Our city as well as the airport is growing and it’s important that our infrastructure meets the increasing demands of air travel,” said Congressman Cuellar. “This investment will help enhance our airport’s service capacity and provide more efficient travel for aircrafts arriving or departing the Laredo International Airport. As a senior member on the Appropriations Committee, I will continue to fund programs that improve safety as well as infrastructure in Laredo. I’d like to thank Mayor Pete Saenz, City Manager Robert Eads, City Council members, International Airport Director Jeffrey Miller, and the rest of his staff for their dedication to our city’s tourism and transportation industry.”
