(Laredo, Texas)-As part of the process of continued transparency and commitment to community input regarding the District’s Superintendent search, the District happily reports that it hasnarrowed down the candidates for the position of Superintendent to three highly qualified individuals. The three applicants have more than 60 years of combined administrative experience within a school district, and the Board is confident that any of the three would be more than capable to lead United ISD to new heights. To protect the confidentiality of the candidates and in compliance with state law, the applicants’ names will not be released at this time.
The second interviews of the three applicants will occur on April 19, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. at a special-called Board meeting. Following the interviews, the Board will deliberate and announce the lone finalist for the position of Superintendent at the meeting. Per state law, the Board will have to wait 21 days after announcing the finalist to employ the new Superintendent of Schools.
We thank the public for its commitment and attention to this matter and assure the UISD family that the Board will make the best decision for the District on Monday.
