(Laredo, Texas)-In order to assist the community during this pandemic, United ISD will again be offering free Grab and Go Meals for ALL children from ages 1 to 18 years of age. Grab and Go meals will be available at all schools from 6:45 am to 9:15 am with the exception of Clark Middle School. Parents of this school/area can pick up meals at Clark Elementary School. The hours for the various bus routes will remain the same.
Children do not have to be enrolled at United ISD. Children do not need to be present for meals, but parents need to bring one of the following forms of child identification: official barcode letter from United ISD, report card, attendance record from Parent Portal, Student ID card, or birth certificate. Once the information is reviewed, a United ISD Verification of Meals placard will be provided to each family to have in place of the required documents. This placard MUST be brought daily for meal pick up. If it is misplaced, parents need to bring the children’s information with them to receive the meals and to be verified again. Verification of student information for the placard will begin on Monday, September 14, 2020, so have all your documents ready.
In addition, the child must be marked present for the days the parent/guardian picks up meals for their child(ren). If the parent picks up a meal and the child is absent for the day, the parent will be responsible for payment. Only 1 breakfast and 1 lunch are allowed per student per day. Please do not pick up multiple meals at different campuses.
Per the Texas Department of Agriculture regulations: Only the Parent or Guardian of the child may pick up meals. This program is provided through the Texas Department of Agriculture Summer Food Service Program.
