City, County Confirm New COVID-19 Related Death

LAREDO, Texas—The City of Laredo and Webb County have confirmed one more death in Webb County related to COVID-19. The City and County want to express their most sincere condolences to the family and want them to know that our counselors and our teams are available to support them.
The 185th death of a Webb County resident was a male in his early 50s. He died on Thursday, August 13, 2020.
Stay home if you are sick and call your doctor. Do not go to the doctor’s office, call your doctor first. If it is an emergency, call 9-1-1.
As of 12:00 p.m. on Friday, August 14, 2020, a total of 24,761 people have been tested, 14,388 people have resulted negative, 9,303 have resulted positive (3,333 are active), 1,070 test results are pending, 5,785 persons have estimated recovered, 170 are currently hospitalized (64 of which are in the ICU), seven patients are currently admitted at the alternate care site, and 185 have died.
In order to safeguard legally-protected information, the City of Laredo is not publically releasing personal or identifiable information regarding any cases as it relates to COVID-19 testing, results or monitoring.
